The In-Service Trainee: Quality Assurance program is a 12-month learnership registered with the FoodBev SETA, offering students in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Food Technology, or related fields the opportunity to gain practical workplace experience. This program is designed to provide exposure to quality control processes, compliance standards, and product safety practices within the food and beverage industry. Trainees will apply their academic knowledge to real-world scenarios, ensuring that products meet regulatory and company standards. The program emphasizes professional growth, technical skill development, and the chance to contribute meaningfully to quality assurance operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monitoring and evaluating product quality during the manufacturing process
• Support the implementation of food safety and compliance standards
• Conduct sampling, testing, and analysis to ensure products meet specifications
• Document and report findings in line with quality assurance protocols
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality-related issues
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product safety and consistency

Qualifications

• South African citizen aged between 18 and 35
• Grade 12 with Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy passed at a minimum of 40%
• Proficiency in English and at least one other South African language at 40%
• Currently studying towards a qualification in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Food Technology, or a related field
• Unemployed and not previously completed the same qualification or learnership at another company
• Candidates who meet Employment Equity guidelines are preferred
